Division Details

The Under 10 Division teams are co-ed and are made up of eight to twelve players, ages of 8 to 9 years old. U10 teams typically play matches Monday or Wednesday at 6 PM and Saturday Mornings beginning about the first week of September to the second week of October.   MSJSL U10 teams have relatively small rosters to provide more playing opportunities for the players.  This results in more teams in the the U10 Division than 6 PM games can accommodate.  As a result each team has one 7:30 PM match during the season.

Each week consists of one weeknight match and one training session that are held on opposite days, Monday or Wednesday, and one Saturday morning match.  Training is as important as match play, players should attend both training and games.  Training sessions are most often held at St. Anthony Field or McLaughlin Middle School.

There is a player evaluation day held the second weekend of July.  The purpose of the evaluation is to help compose teams that have a relative balance of skill, ages and gender to provide more opportunity for players and more competitive matches.  Click here for more about Evaluation Day.  All players are to attend the player evaluation.  Families not able to attend player evaluations please contact the division manager so accommodations can be made.

MSJSL participates annually in the New Hampshire Soccer Association (NHSA) U10 Festival.  During the festival, Manchester South teams will play three half matches against U10 teams for other Manchester and area leagues.  The U10 Festival is held on a weekend near the end of September and takes the place of Saturday matches at South for that week.   It is played at an area complex large enough to host a tournament.  For more details click here.

At the end of the season there is a graduation game played by all nine year old players moving up to the U12 Division the next fall.  The match is played on the U12 field under U12 rules with referees.
